This, as pretty much everything else in my projects list is a work in progress. I’m still testing the PLA printed version and haven’t melted or leaked thus far but I imagine either the exhaust side (especially if you’re still running the cat for some reason) or the roof of the storage might get soft after prolonged hot and sweaty adventures ;).
Notes:
- I did design and print a gasket out of TPU for water proofing but depending on your environment/printer/fillament/printer etc… you may have to play with the sizing of it. I suggest printing at least 3 versions 99% – 100% – 101% sized gasket, see what fits best and go from there.
- Printing the whole thing vertically with tree supports and working supports out of the box piece by piece seems like the way to go but you do you.

- The aluminum bracket needs the ear that’s sticking up bent out flat to accommodate this thing. Sorry got lazy and didn’t design a slot for it but it’s aluminum and bends super easy.
- I used M6 nuts countersunk from inside and your choice of bolts obviously.
To DO:
- Test
- Design an ear on the lid to be able to actually open it without using curse words.
- ???
